Curriculum Vitae

I am Associate Director at the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Florida where I develop and manage initiatives that integrate the study of foreign language and area studies across the curriculum.

I have  teaching experience across K-16 levels and in corporate environments. My area of interests are in Languages for Specific Purposes (LSP), teacher professional development, global education, and Globally Networked Learning Environments (GNLEs).

My doctoral research focused on blended learning and integrating intercultural content modules in business courses. My research at the master’s level focused on: “The Role of Culture in Successful Franchising in Brazil: Case Studies” and “A Study of Second Language Acquisition in the First, Second and Third Grades.”

I am passionate about finding ways to connect students with the world and help them understand other cultures through technology and innovative approaches to teaching and learning.  The video below is a resource for promoting “global fluency”.
